Alexis Johnson is an Emmy-winning filmmaker based in New York City. She primarily works as an editor and writer, and has spent much of the last decade in dark rooms, dissecting con artists, war crimes, and the web's murkiest recesses. Despite that, she remains an optimist (mostly) and tries to retain a sense of humor.

She's not the Alexis Johnson who runs Planned Parenthood, nor the husband of Tony-winning Hamilton star Renée Elise Goldsberry. This Alexis Johnson was part of the team that won Best Editing (remotely) at the 2020 Critics' Choice Documentary Awards for the COVID-19 horror film Totally Under Control and was one of 40 filmmakers under 40 featured in DOC NYC's Class of 2023.

Her past work has premiered at Sundance, Berlinale, SXSW, and the New York Film Festival, and can be streamed on HBO, Netflix, Hulu, and Amazon.
